Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Yale School of Medicine; Director, Integrative Medicine Program
Gary Soffer, MD, FAAP is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine, an attending physician in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology, and Director of Integrative Medicine at Smilow Cancer Center. He also serves as an Associate Program Director for the Yale Pediatric Residency Program.
Dr. Soffer trained in pediatrics and allergy and immunology at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and later completed fellowship training in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona.
His work sits at the intersection of conventional medicine and integrative health, with a particular focus on immune health, allergy, nutrition, mind-body medicine, and the ways lifestyle and environment influence chronic disease. He has published and spoken nationally on integrative approaches to health and is involved in national leadership through the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Integrative Medicine.
At the center of his work is a simple question: how can we use the best of modern medicine while also paying closer attention to the everyday factors that shape health, resilience, and well-being?
